My Practice Manager is not a nationwide pass-through claim processing service.  I focus on the unique needs of mental health providers in Texas and Colorado, providing insurance-related expertise, guidance, and billing service so they can focus on what is most important: treating clients.

I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, minoring in Business Administration from University of Houston, with a goal of supporting the business processes for mental health providers.  I have been fortunate to work alongside of the BEST Licensed Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Psychologists in both for-profit and not-for-profit group practice settings.  I have been trusted with the role of credentialing, contract management, and claims processing for over 20 years.  In that time, I have provided training and consultation on insurance changes and requirements while relentlessly pursuing insurance companies to gain network status for providers and to recover payments for all claims.

I have been with providers throughout their career paths: from internships to supervisors to launching their own private practices.  Along the way, I’ve been asked “Do you do this [insurance stuff] on the side?” and have offered guidance, but maintained my primary role as group practice insurance guru.  There is a real need for group practice service at the private practice level.  So I shifted my focus from group practice administration to launch My Practice Manager, with a focus on supporting the solo-provider private practices who need someone to handle the insurance side of things.
